Breakbeats MixMixed by Ben Palmer

I’ve been itching to do a good breakbeat mix in ages and finally i got a selection of some of my favourite recent tracks. It’s full of electro breaks fully inspired from synth pop and UK breaks. Plump DJs, NAPT, Slyde, Maelstrom and many more…

Driving mix that gets going right from the start with dirty little Drumattic Twins remix of Makossa by Maelstrom, then 4 Seconds by DJ Fixx with great use of Justin Timberlake samples (tricky medium), the harsh electronic Torque of the Devil by Plump DJs, some great Slyde and NAPT tracks ending on the brilliant Break Me (Quest vs Pyramid Remix) by Quest & Odissi. Enjoy.

Track of the Week

Break Me (Quest vs Pyramid Remix) by Quest & Odissi, loving the minor arabic riff at the beginning going into some nice female vocal samples then a hard early riser into main bass hook. What a crowd pleaser!

Further Reading

I’ve got a good feeling about the London-based duo, NAPT. They’re making waves in the breakbeat scene and i think they’ll probably have a hugely popular album out very soon. They have a promo mix or two on their podcast through iTunes get their breakbeat podcast here.

They’ve got a great remix coming out soon of Slyde “Frequency”, get it from Fingerlickin Records now!

I got this download as a podcast through itunes. I loved it the first time I heard it and it has since become my biking motivation. I love it so much that if I listen to it when I’m not on my bike it makes me want to jump on and ride! I my opinion, it’s a masterpiece.
